This is no longer about your “reputation” since, as you say, it was a long time ago. This is about protecting your husband since I’m sure you are right, he would find it confusing and hurtful. Explain to your grandchildren that Granny did some very foolish things many years ago and even more stupidly allowed someone to take a photograph. Instill in them the importance of them not making the same mistake. Make sure they understand how important it is that they never tell their grandfather, because he would be very upset.
